First of all, we worked on the project about chimera and this was about making mythological hybrid creature. I created ten of them, but picked three of my favourites, for example one chimera has a bear’s head, tiger’s body, snake’s tail and bat’s wings. The other one has cat’s face, body of hippopotamus, goat’s horns and tail of octopus. The third chimera has dog’s head, horse’s body. crow’s wings and scorpion’s tail.
Next project I had focused on was surrealism and that means an artwork that is creative, but it is characterised by unnatural and illogical combinations as well as juxtapositions. I had created two of them so far, for example I had created a first one which was called “Egyptian Curse”. The background consisted of a pyramid and red sky, as the whole country was filled with curse. A demonic entity appears in a form of jackal’s head, devil’s wings and body of totem pole. This shows that it would corrupt the mankind to commit evil deeds. I have also created another one which was called as “Volcanic Hell” and that picture displayed that a volcano would erupt after the sky changes from blue to orange. In actuality, there is a lava and a monster beneath the volcano (possibly the devil). When a person enters inside the volcano, he fall in hell and be tormented by the demonic being (in a form of red and black cloud smoke).
Finally, I had worked on “Colossus” project and that was about creating a giant person sitting on or wandering around the buildings. For example, I took a picture of different buildings with my digital camera. For the camera pose, I sat on the block and later on I used that picture on the Photoshop. I turned myself into a giant and sat on top of the building. Therefore, I smiled and seemed to look at the view.
So far I have enjoyed all three projects, but my favourite one was the chimera because it was creative and enjoyable. I had good choice when it gets to choosing different animals. The chimera project was so easy because I had an ability to create different hybrids without needing any help. Also, I followed the instructions after David gave it to me in the project. If I was to do this again, I would pick another hybrid with different parts of animal bodies that I had never chosen before.
